Easter Festivities

The Friday before Easter, the neighbors came over and

we died eggs, and made little egg holders for decoration!

...and Jordan showed up to steal my book.

but we're glad he stopped by anyway.

Then the Saturday before Easter Sunday,

Lainee went to her first egg hunts.

The city was sooo LAME-O!

I had never been to one before and will

never go to one again.

The one our ward did was a little bit more fun.

That night before the Easter bunny came,

we watched a movie about Jesus Christ and his life

and sacrifice, and it's amazing how little ones

will sit and watch because they seem to know Him.

Maybe that sounds cheesy but let's face it,

it wasn't an exciting movie like Micky Mouse or Beauty and the Beast,

but she sat and watched it and she loves Jesus.

We tried to explain what was happening in the simplest terms possible

by saying things like "They hurt Jesus" and "oh look now he's better"

haha kind of funny but it helped her understand and she was

really into the story and genuinely did not want Him to hurt.

Nothing brings the spirit like a child's simple testimony.

EASTER SUNDAY

Lainee woke up bright and early and we could hear her

in her bed when she saw the trail of candy,

"dere's delly beans down there... mallows, delly beans..."

She followed the trail and found this blue bunny she

has been asking for for the last month everytime we went in Wal Mart,

along with a new spring outfit and sandals,

and CANDY!

There were also eggs hidden all over that she had to find.

As soon as we saw all our Easter Bunny gifts, we hurried

to get dressed and left to join the Blanchards for church.

Then we spent the afternoon at Grandma Call's and Lainee

spent the entire day outside, barefoot with her 2nd cousins

(and they all ate WAY to many sweets).

Lainee and Shaya are only a couple months apart,

and they seem to be buddies.

One of the cousins left Lainee's little bunny like this. haha cute.

Baby Tavrie was there (I probably spelled that wrong),

and everyone was jealous of her luscious locks.

It was a great day to celebrate Christ and new life.

...And in fact, I think it was Lainee's favorite day ever.
