Shake Your Groove Thang

Lainee has become pretty good entertainment for me lately.
She always dances to the music that plays during the credits
of her movies, so the other day, to burn some energy,
we all danced to the "Kids Only" Music Choice chanel on the TV.

She rarely dances alone. Paisley (the doll) always joins her.
Lainee danced with Paisley and I danced with Jace,
and everybody loved it!

It's been a while since we did this,
and our little dance party was looong over-due.

Love me some random toddler dance moves.

Blessing Day

I'm realizing that I am the world's worst
picture-taker because
a) I hardly ever remember to take any
when I'm really going to want them and
b) they hardly ever turn out looking
the way I would like them to.

Oh well... Here are the few that I took on Baby Jace's Day.
January 6, 2013

Looking sharp in all white.

Grandma Hill came back and brought Grandpa Hill
with her this time for the blessing!

 Such a handsome boy.
(Too bad Mom is a horrible photographer).

 Our little family of four
heading off to church.

Jace's daddy gave him a beautiful blessing
from Heavenly Father and once again
we are all feeling overwhelmingly grateful
for our family and that we can be and are
sealed for time and eternity.

I'm so excited that our family is growing
and I CANNOT WAIT to see who this little man
grows up to be!

The Holidays

So, last update of our lives was Jace's birth.
Here's what happened next...

My beautiful mother came for a week to help out
and I loooved all the help and spending time with her.
She flew back to WA on December 21,
I spent half a day practicing the two-kids-thing
while Garen got to go to the big football game the 22nd.
Sunday the 23rd we went to Church just for sacrament meeting
and to teach our class.
Then we came home to get packed because.....

We had decided kindof last minute
that we would head to Idaho a day early to be
there for Christmas Eve.
So we had dinner, got packed,
unwrapped all but just a few gifts,
then let Lainee stay up a little later to
wear herself out while we finished packing.

We left at 6am the 24th, but had to stop by
the hospital to get Jace's 2nd PKU done.
Well apparently someone lied to us because
the lab wasn't opened until 7, so we waited,
got it done quick and left town by 7:15 or so.

Looong trip but considering all the snow,
our two little ones in the back seat,
and chills and sickies I ended up with
(serves me right for trying this 10 days after having a baby),
we actually made pretty good time.

The rest of the Blanchards had no idea we were coming.
They were all expecting us the next night
on Christmas Day.
So we went straight to Grandma Call's
since that's where Christmas Eve celebrations
are usually held but...
No one was there!

So we did some tricky texting to find out
where everyone was without giving away the suprise.
Lainee got nervous to see everyone the last few minutes of the ride,
and kept covering eyes in distress,
and saying "Let's just turn around and go home!"

Anyway,
when we walked in...

(I am a great mother who forgot to take pictures
of Christmas morning but this is what Santa brought Lainee.
Don't worry though, she was suprisingly shy and boring.)

We stayed a little over a week and the whole
vacation was so much fun.
I got to rest alot, but we also got to
see alot of family and eat alot of good food.
(Thanks for all the help that week everyone!)
Plus... the big Blanchard family gift was a
FOUR WHEELER!
So naturally, alot of time was spent
out in all the beautiful snow.
(I definitely appreciated the snow for Christmas.)

Lainee and I also got to go visit our old friends
and neighbors the Wilsons!

Overall- Another fantabulous holiday break!

Jace Garen Blanchard

One sweet little man joined our family
December 14 (two weeks early), 2012.
He was 7 lb 5oz, and 19 inches.

(5 days old^)

I woke up at 5 am and ran to the bathroom.
"Garen what time is it? I think my water just broke."
"......Like 5." He walks to the bathroom.
"Doesn't that mean we should head to the hospital like right now?"
".........uh... We could probably wait 'til my alarm goes off at 6..."
He walks back to the bed.
(huh?)
haha he was obviously out of it,
but don't worry I made him wake up and we
made it to the hospital by 6 or so
(after pounding on Arregui's door for a while to drop
off Lainee for the day. THANKS ARREGUIS!)

After a few hours, I was ready,
but had to wait for the Doctor to finish in the OR.
Anyway, he finally entered the world at about 10:36 am
with no complications and the nurses said we
were their very favorite patients because we both
made it so easy for them!

Garen missed a big test at 9 am but was able to make it up
that afternoon, and got a 100%! Way to go Dad!
Because he also had 3 big tests the following week,
my terrific mother booked a flight last minute
and came to stay with us until the next Friday.
WE OWE HER BIG TIME
because I never would have lived without her!

Lainee loves her new brother but does have a little bit
of a hard time sharing the attention for now.
I think she's quickly getting used to it though.

Jace sleeps like a champ,
and Lainee has already adjusted to sleep on through
when he does wake up.

I love my awesome kids
and their amazing daddy!
