A Week in Washington

Amaree, Garen's brother's wife is from Port Orchard, WA and she wanted to go home during her week off from student teaching, so Lainee and I rode with her and she dropped us off in Moses Lake while our hubbies stayed here to work. It was a good old lazy week with the family.

I didn't take very many pictures but here are a few......
My parents were going to Tri-Cities to clean the temple so Lainee and I rode down with them, and went to the mall while they cleaned. This is lunch at "Nothing But Noodles" before the drive home.

Parker and his buddies chillin' in the basement.

Grandma got a cool doll stroller and Lainee hardly let go of it the whole week.

Here are the few girls my age who are left in Moses Lake. It's fun to catch up with friends from 5th ward.

the last couple weeks...

So I made a deal with one of my groups of gymnasts and ended up owing them homemade oreos. Tried that. It didn't work and I couldn't find my yummy recipe anywhere!
So I showed up empty handed on Monday. But Wednesday....
I brought these! Yum!

**********

Lainee and I got to hang with Tag for half a day while his mama Chelsea was at work.
It was good for Lainee to learn to deal with another kid (and for her to see a little person use the toilet!).
Here they are just playing the day away.

**********

Don't ask me why, but for some reason Lainee thinks stuffing whole cookies (or chicken nuggets or brownies or handfuls of fish crackers) into her mouth at once is so much better than taking bites.

**********
Kelsie- all ready for the homecoming dance in Rigby. She so perty.
I went to help her get ready, but really we sisters-in-law didn't help much.
We just did a lot  of girl talk and heard some good "boy drama" from Kels.
So glad I'm not in high school. haha.

**********

We had a fun night with Kevin and Audrey. Cold Stone and a movie at our place.
We always have so much fun with these two!

(Sorry half my pics are sideways, I'm too lazy to fix them today.)

Top Ten Tuesday

Things I love about fall:

10- It cools off at the gym. I work in a big metal building with no AC and it can get soo hot during the summer!
9- Movie previews. They always release all the good movies during holiday season so now is when we get to see ads for them!
8- Candy Corn!... I know it's ridiculous how stinking early they start putting out Halloween stuff at the store, but I'm a sucker for candy corn.
7- High school football games, and homecoming dances/festivities. I know everyone else is into college football and that's great too but there's just something about the whole "spirit week" thing in little home towns. I love when all the kids come to the gym for practice with their "crazy hair day" do or whatever else. LOVE it.
6- The colors of course. And raking up leaves just so I can jump in them.
5-Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Mmm. (Actually just any baked goodness that you can't do during the summer).
4- Harvest season. TRACTORS out in the fields, and all the fun corn and straw mazes.
3- Only 3 months til Christmas! (Can you even believe that)
2- General conference weekend. I love to watch/listen to all the spiritual messages while in my PJs while I color a good coloring page or do some kind of craft.
1- HUNTING ... actually I'm not a huge fan of my hubby being gone, but that's #1 on his top ten so I put it on here for him:)

WA

The other night around a campfire, our good friend Audrey asked: What's everyone's favorite thing you've done this year?
    And we answered: Moses Lake!

    Here's why :

    August 3-11, 2011
Day 1: We jumped in the car around 6am with Dallin and Amaree. Drove nine hours and gained one hour. Ten minutes after Dallin and Amaree dropped us off and went on to Seattle, we had swim suits on and jumped in the beautiful lake. It was calling our names! Did lots of swimming and some tubing. Sang "Happy Birthday" to little cousin Bailey(turning 5) and she blew out a big candle in the middle of a powdered sugar donut... Swam alot and ate alot.
Day 2: Silverwood! Got up early, drove three hours. Waited in long lines and rode a bunch of super fun-tastic roller coasters (even Lainee went on the kid sized one)! Then made our way to Boulder Beach, the amusement park's water park. It was a freaking BLAST!!! Drove another three hours home. What a day.
Day 3: Friday, August 5... Lainee turned one! We mostly just did alot more swimming, wake boarding, tubing, boat riding, hot tubbing, and some more eating, swimming and wake boarding. But there was a few minutes during the afternoon that were designated to Lainee for opening presents and eating Jell-o cupcakes. She got lots of neat presents from everyone and our little cousin Payton (3) kept saying "oh that one's from me" (even though most of them weren't). How cute!
Day 4: Slept in. More and more wake boarding, swimming, boating, tubing, eating, eating, eating, laying out in the sun on the dock.........
Day 5: Sunday. A much needed day of rest. Went to church with the family and just enjoyed more food and the awesome view from the back deck, where my family eats most of their meals.
Day 6: Take a WILD guess... More wake boarding, swimming, laying out, eating, etc. (only this day we managed to convince Megan and Parker to start watching LOST with us. They were hooked).
Day 7: Watched some LOST and then........ MORE of the same old stuff PARTAY!!!
Day 8: PARTY more and get more tan and get more A I R.
That afternoon Garen napped and I got to go see Kortni, an awesome friend who owns AIM Gymnastics, and then Garen and Lainee and I went to dinner at INCA (the bomb-est Mexican restaurant ever) with Georgie, Jill, and some other friends. Good times. I love getting to catch up.
Day 9: Woke up and packed up. Dallin and Amaree showed up around 10am and we got to wake board with them for an hour or so and then we got showered and got back on the road. Sad day but GREAT vacation!

    snoozing.
    What a life.
    Wake boarding off the dock.
    Loving the sun.
haha. Lovely right? Mom and Megs.
Even lovelier eh? Parker and Dad.
    Jordan driving the boat.
The back yard as we drive back up to the house, and all our toys and mess on the dock.

Lost *-*

Dear Cast,
I'm LOST without you.

*****************************************
I know, it's about time I blog about what the heck has been going on this summer but... I watched all six seasons of LOST in the last two months or so and now that it's over I might be going to through withdrawals. I love these people!
