cool concert. cool friends.

We went to a super AWESOME concert with our super awesome friends,
Katelyn and Shane Haas.

Photo: Tim McGraw's superstar summer Concert! :)
Tim McGraw Superstar Summernights:
It was Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Taylow Swift, Jason Aldeen, Kieth Urban,
Luke Bryan, Lady A, The Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line,
Ne-Yo, Nelly, Jon Fogherty...... WOW!

It was awesome, but soo long!
It's going to be on TV so it was like a stinkin'
recording session and we had to hear most of the songs
twice in a row because the artists weren't satisfied.
And the "finally" was the second song we heard.
Ugh. But still. So cool to see and hear them all in person!

Thanks guys for going with us!

General Conference

I love General Conference.... Mostly because
we get to stay home for church and I don't have to
kill myself half to death getting everyone ready and
hauling all their stuff to the church.

.........PLUS I do love to hear prophets speak.
It's so awesome to be able to listen in the comfort of my
own home in the presence of my own family.

We started a new tradition last year.
We make Orange Julius and Apple Streusel Muffins
for breakfast Sunday morning. Yum.

I also decided to try to get Lainee to start
understanding what's happening during conference.
She knows who President Monson is,
and has flash cards of the apostles
(as seen all over the floor in the picture below)
so during this last conference,

this is what she did:

We would help her recognize which apostle was speaking.
(it's really tricky because to her, they all just have the same
grey hair, sometimes glasses, dark suit and tie).
Then we would find the coloring page with his picture on it.

She would color each prophet or apostle as we listened to him speak.

She enjoyed deciding what color each of their ties would be.
(AND we got to work on staying inside the lines.)

Of course this didn't hold her attention the WHOLE time,
but it helped alot and she did great considering her age. =)

Another great weekend of learning for all of us!

Stats

Baby Jace @ 4 months
[picture coming soon]

14.25 lbs: 28 %ile
25 inches: 45 %ile

Still a happy guy even after shots.
What a tough boy!

Rolls over every time we put him down.
Mostly from back to tummy, but can do both!

Loves the frog Lainee gave him for Christmas,
and his little jungle animal rattles, and green rattle ball.

Started eating rice cereal twice a day
and loooves it! Plus his regular 6oz every 2hr.

Grins, and sometimes even laughs
when he's naked or getting his diaper changed.

Enjoys listening to Mom read books with Lainee
before afternoon nap time.
(We're all especially big fans of Sandra Bointon)

... It seems like he's eating tons and growing tons,
and he IS, but sheesh, he's still in a pretty low %ile.
I guess all the other babies his age are bigger than I think.
That's okay. He's perfect and we wuv him!

love it

Fresh out of the tub.
Clean PJs.
Hair combed.
Dry diaper.
No crying.
No whining.
Reading books.
Together.

LOVE IT

(PS I will also quickly talk about how Lainee ALWAYS
has on no pants, but always has on a pair of shoes...
and that both of our kids are sweaty little monsters
when they sleep, even when it's not that hot,
so every night they wear a tank or t-shirt
with no bottoms and no socks to bed.)

Spring Break & Easter Sunday

Garen had this last week off from classes
so we got to spend a little bit more time as a whole family!

We got to see a super fun movie in the theater
with our cool friends the Durrants.

...and have I mentioned that when my husband
decides he's into something, he gets REALLY really into it?
Well he does,
and the latest is disc golf.
So we got to play at a few parks this week while
he satisfied his new obsession.
(and he also likes us to play with him sometimes).

Then of course we celebrated Easter.
During the week for FHE, we sang some primary Easter songs
and read Lainee's Easter book about Christ.
Wednesday we went to an egg hunt,
and Sunday we woke up to find that
the bunny had come!

Here's Jace watching Lainee discover her basket (and his).

Here is all of us looking magnificent;)

The Easter-Sunday-before-church shot.
(don't worry Garen didn't keep that bowtie on.)

We had a great feast this Easter!
Both spiritually in our meetings,
AND at home on our first Easter without family.

Jace struttin' his new shades from the Easter bunny.

Garen didn't go back to school until today so we had time
Monday to go through everyone's clothes
and do some sorting, storing, and donating...
and shopping!

Then Dad went back to studying like a mad man,
and the rest of us are back to our normal routine.
Playdates, rest time, snack time...
We miss Dad, but it's good when normal is back.

HAPPY SPRING!
