Terrible Two

okay, so I'm pretty sure most of the "terrors"
of this two-year-old started a looong time ago,
but anyway, she's officially two!
Here's some pictures of her birthday
and her party with good friends.

We have a video of present opening but
it'll have to wait.

Summer Days

JULY AND AUGUST:

Uncle Jordan (my little brother and his fiance and friend)
showed up one Saturday and stayed a while to visit.
Also, during this visit no one told us Ariel was
Jordan's fiance. He just walked in and said
"this is Ariel." ... Wish I would have known... haha.

We redid Lainee's lamps and rearranged her room
so it's much more cute and functional.

24th of July celebration at the stake center one Saturday morning
with our super good girlfriends, Janel and Sophie!

Sophie is just 3 weeks younger than Lainee. Perfect!

About 19 weeks- It's a BOY and his name is Jace!

Lainee's new thing is to take every stuffed animal off
the shelf, put them in a pile with her blankets and "snuggle everybody."

Lainee had a birthday and a party!
(more to come on that)

Play dates and swimming at Whitney Ranch pool
with Carly and her son Will,
Dayna and her son Harrison,
Kris and her daughter Emma,
and of course Janel and her daughter Sophie.

Will, Emma, and Sophie are all within
a few months of Lainee's age. FUN!

All of these girls have husbands in Garen's class
and they are kind of all study buddies so
this is our little "clique."
(There's also Shane's wife Katelyn but
Katelyn is cool and has a day job so she's
yet to be pictured, but we love her too.)

Chillin' and playin' at the cool splash pad
not too far from our house.

Our new besties. Janel and Sophie.

We do get to see Garen every evening for dinner.
Also have been to a AAA baseball game and some other
fun stuff but for some reason we never have the camera
and when we do, it dies.

Garen has been kind of stressed sometimes but
is a very consistent studier so he has done REALLY well
on all of his tests and quizzes so far.
I'm so proud of him and his hard work!

our new abode

I had a few people asking for pictures of our new place.
There are still some projects undone- like chairs that need repainted and recovered, and throw pillows, lamps painted, etc. ( because Lainee quit taking naps).
Here are a few few pictures of what is mostly done.

Lainee's room. She's in a twin bed now but
the crib is still set up in her room for the new babe.

Garen and I build Lainee her very own beam!
(parent-tot gymnastics is slightly... WAY more expensive here.)

Our office and sewing/craft and storage room.
Thanks again for the furniture Mom and Dad!

Living room with our new TV stand handed down from my parents.

Band new leather couches!

Wanna-be dining room
(in the wanna-be kitchen which I didn't even
take a picture of. haha. It's not that bad though.)

My gray and yellow bathroom.
(Which will match my gray and yellow bedroom
once I finish sewing some pillow covers, etc.)

We have a patio that will be nice when it cools off,  two bathrooms,
and a sweet laundry room.
We are also about 80 feet from the pool! WOO!

PS there are no lights in any of these room except
the bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry room!
Wierd.
So we are using lots of lamps.

we made it to JULY...

So now it's July.
Aaand so much has gone on with our family since mid-June.
Here is a picture update of June and July events.

Last day at work. Sad. I miss my kids at MGC.

We went camping with Chris and Kyly.
Garen caught Chris in the ear with a fishing hook!
Lainee hated us by the end because there were too many bugs.

A trip to Moses Lake for a week.
We got to hang out with family, boating, swimming,
mini golfing, catching up with Chrissy and Kimball,
Lainee's first few times on the tube, painting furniture,
and Elder Anderson came to stake conference!

Then back to Rexburg for one more week.
Packed up, had a few more fun bike rides and BBQs.
Said goodbye to our awesome friends and neighbors.

Finally got everything in the truck (which my parents paid for and drove. Thanks!).
Went to one last dinner and birthday party at the Blanchards. Thanks!
Stayed one quick night at kevin and Audrey's new place. Thanks!
Made it to Las Vegas!

Hung out with my family while they visited for the week(forgot to take any pictures).
Went to Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian.
Made a bunch of 10:00 slurpy runs to the Seven Eleven down the road.
Said goodbye to family and got started on life in NV.

Shopping, Swimming at Lake Mead (slightly lame-o) and in our apt. pool,
4th of July, drive up on top of the hill and watch all of Vegas' fireworks!

I wish I would have taken more pictures of the trip down and the week we got here but of course my camera was dead and the charger was unfound (until now).
So far we are enjoying living here and have made tons of new friends already!
(HATE THE FACT THAT SOME FREAK STOLE MY BRAND NEW $400 BIKE
3 DAYS AFTER WE MOVED IN!)
I still think I'm not a fan at all of staying in a huge city but I can definitely deal with the heat (even in my current pregnant state) as long as we're in the pool EVERY day, and we have been!

Garen started school this week and was really nervous but I think he's going to do great! He's made a bunch of friends in his class and has a pretty good study routine going already. Good luck Honey!

speaking of talking...

So my last post was all about
how I talk too much.
Well here's another blonde
who talks and talks and talks too.

I was reading a little developement chart
I got from the hospital when Lainee was born.
it says by the time a child is 3 YEARS OLD
they should be able to speak in 3-5 word sentences.
huh? Lainee is not even 2 for another month.

This kid inherited her mother's knack for
never shutting her pie hole.
So I figured I should make a record
of some of the things she says so I
have proof when she gets older and
people don't believe me.

Here are some things Lainee has said to us
(clear as day) in the past few weeks.

"Mooom, stop cleaning up in my room!"
"I don't want to stay in my bed. I'm comin out in the living room."
"I [don't] need to go potty in the big toilet. I will stay dry."
"I'm gonna wear my green dress and my purple crocks today."
"I'm goin' my new nursery and play'th that baby."
"Mickey has a tail, and Minnie has a tail."
"Lainee just has a little bum, and Mommy has a biiig bum!"
"Honor is riding her mom's car, and Sophie is riding her mom's car."
"There's no more pink star popsicles, and I eat a red one."

Also here are parts of songs from movies
that Lainee is singing constantly over and over.

"Let's go to the movies. Seee the Staaars!"
 -Annie
"When will my life begiiin."
 -Tangled
"Tomorrow, tomorrow. I love ya. Tomorrow! A day awaaaay...
" -Annie
"Dumb dog. Why you followin' me?"
 - Annie
"Let's go fly a kite up to highest height. Send it soaring!"
 -Mary Poppins
"Last I seeee da liiight."
 -Tangled
"Won't you please come get your baby? Maaaaayyybeeee..."
-Annie
"Find where IIII belooong."
 -Hercules
"Some women are dripping wis diamonds. I'm drippin'th girls!"
 -Annie
"Jesus wants me for sunBEAM."
 -nursery and mom
"I looked out the window and what I see. PopCORN popping on tree."
 -nursery and mom

PS more posts to come all about our new life and place...
